Austria tightened measures for travellers arriving from UK, the Netherlands, Denmark, Norway

Austria categrized United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Denmark, Norway as Virus variant areas

Austria: From 25 December, Travellers arriving from the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Denmark and Norway. These countries are classified as a virus variant region in Austria.

This means:

People who are fully vaccinated (double jabbed) AND have received the 3rd booster jab can enter Austria with a negative PCR test (valid 48 hours). Children under the age of 12 are exempt (see below) and teenagers eligible for the Holiday Ninja Pass will be able to enter with a negative PCR test (valid 48 hours).

Important additional information: Everyone else travelling from the UK, the Netherlands, Denmark and Norway needs to quarantine for 10 days upon arrival and Pre-travel-clearance registration is necessary. Please be aware that in Austria the “2-G” rule (proof of vaccination/recovery) applies.

Everyone else entering Austria needs to show

Proof of full vaccination (2 jabs) OR proof of past infection (the medical document needs to show the date of recovery – (for guests from the UK: an NHS email/text of a positive test is not sufficient) 

AND a negative PCR test (valid for 72 hours) OR proof of a booster jab (booster is valid from the first day)Â
