Algarve to lure summer tourists re-launches promotional campaign

To boost Algarve tourism, Algarve’s tourism board has revived a promotional campaign launched last year to woo summer tourists to the region.

Entitled ‘O Algarve fica-te bem. Sempre’ (‘The Algarve looks good on you. Always’), the campaign aims to show potential visitors, especially Portuguese and Spanish, that the Algarve is a safe destination.

As the tourism board explains, hopes are that the campaign will remind people that the region can be visited “at any time of year, with all the required safety conditions”, and that it offers “something for everyone, from top-class hotels and spas to outdoor activities, sports events, culture, good food and wine, and the best beaches of Europe”.

“Now that Portugal is no longer in a State of Emergency, and with the pandemic numbers improving, it is the moment to start travelling again, never forgetting everyone’s safety,” says Algarve tourism chief João Fernandes.

The campaign was launched last Wednesday (May 5) and will run for two weeks.

The centerpiece of the campaign is a 45-second video which is being promoted online on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.
