Icelandair Launches Direct Flights to Keflavík

The land of fire and ice, Iceland, with the northernmost metropolis in the world – the city of monuments and mysterious nooks – can be reached as of now by direct flights from Prague thanks to Icelandair. Passengers can fly to Reykjavík four times a week and take advantage of a convenient transfer to onward flights to North America. “Icelandair’s new direct connection will not only boost outbound tourism to Iceland but also provide ideal opportunity for reaching Icelandair’s wide network in North America. Thanks to this new service, we anticipate further strengthening of tourism between the Czech Republic and the United States and Canada,” Jaroslav Filip, Prague Airport Aviation Business Director, said. Moreover, the opportunity to welcome a new carrier at Prague Airport is always a clear proof of the Czech market appeal. The new carrier will offer flights to the airport in Keflavík four times a week, every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday, using Boeing 737 MAX8 aircraft for 160 passengers to operate the route. “We are happy to add Prague to our extensive summer flight schedule. It is a destination known for art, culture, and history. This is the first time we have offered scheduled flights to Prague, and we see great opportunities in the convenient connecting times to our flights to and from North America. This way we can increase connectivity between the two markets as well as connect the citizens of Iceland and Prague,” Bogi Nils Bogason, CEO of Icelandair, added.
