Air India to restore employees’ salaries to pre-Covid levels from Sept 2022

New Delhi, India: Air India CMD Wilson Campbell told its employees on Friday (Aug 26) that it will restore their salaries to pre-pandemic levels and revise layover allowances and meal arrangements for its flight crew members from September 1.

In 2020, Air India and other Indian carriers cut the salaries of their employees in order to save money during the pandemic.

Campbell said in a communique to employees “While we have much to do to return to profitability, in our mission to bring Air India back to the heights of world aviation, sunsetting most of the Covid-19 measures is an important and welcome milestone”.

Will be restoring the salary reductions for all employees” and revise “crew layover allowances and meal arrangements” from September 1, the CMD added.
