Neuchâtel – The hotel sector registered 18.2 million overnight stays in Switzerland during the summer season 2021(from May to October). Compared with the same period last year, overnight stays increased by 34.5% (+4.7 million overnight stays). With a total of 5.6 million overnight stays, foreign demand rose by 78.8% (+2.5 million). Domestic visitors registered a 21.3% increase (+2.2 million) with 12.7 million units. These are the provisional results from the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).
