3,000 UK visas for Indian nationals every year

New Delhi, India: UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on Wednesday (Nov 16) has given the green signal for 3,000 visas for young professionals from India to work in the UK each year.

The announcement came after UK Prime Minister Mr. Sunak met Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the sidelines of the 17th edition of the G20 Summit. This was their first meeting after the first Indian-origin British PM assumed office last month.

Under the new UK-India Young Professionals Scheme, the UK will offer 3,000 places annually to 18-30-year-old degree-educated Indian nationals to come to the UK to live and work in the UK for up to two years. The scheme will be reciprocal.

In parallel to the mobility partnership with India, the British government said it is also strengthening its ability to remove immigration offenders.
